Kate Rough, PT, DPT
Kate’s current role in the residency program is to provide training and support to the mentors. She has previously been in the role of resident, mentor, as well as co-director, prior to settling into her current role.
Kate graduated from the University of Washington (UW) DPT program in 2011 and then pursued further education in the UW Neurologic Physical Therapy residency. She graduated from the residency program in 2012 and obtained her NCS certification in 2013. She worked at UW Medical Center in acute care and inpatient rehab for 6 years prior to transitioning to a role as a teaching assistant in the UW DPT program primarily in the neuro coursework. She has several professional publications in peer reviewed journals and has been a case study contributor to a few physical therapy textbooks.
Kate has a passion for residency level education and helped to create the UW Acute Care Physical Therapy residency program and served as co-director from 2016-17. She currently specializes in neurologic rehabilitation working with patients in their home. Her areas of clinical interest include neuro-anatomy, education, as well as SCI, TBI and vestibular rehab. Her personal interests include exploring the outdoors, hiking, biking, dance and creating art.
